Membership in the Association For Electronic Business isto anyone with an
interest in CALS. While the organization emphasizes the needs of the local Huntsville
community and the surrounding area, all are welcome. The AFEB strives to provide a balance
of focus on technical, management, and broader issues such as social impact of CALS and
related technologies.

While meetings areto everyone, there are advantages to being listed as a member.
- Expedited Communication You will receive early
notification of meetings, seminars, regulations, and availability of reference material.
- Networking You will be recognized among your CALS
peers and be sought out for your particular areas of expertise. Membership will help
others identify your expertise and you will learn of others with complementary skills and
experience. There will be opportunities to share experiences so all may benefit.
- Education We want to make our meetings informative
and useful. As a member, you will influence the content and direction of AFEB activities.
- Participation CALS, along with many other related
information technologies, is undergoing rapid technological evolution, definition,
standardization, and acceptance. Regional Interest Groups, such as the HCIG, are being
asked to help shape and define these directions. As a member, you can help determine these
directions. Your opinions will be sought out.
- Influence There is strength in numbers. A vibrant
organization will have increasing influence with government, social, educational, and
industry leaders. Support for positions on issues of import to you and your peers will
relate to the strength of the organization.
- Economics As a member, you will have reduced rates
for AFEB sponsored seminars, tutorials, and special meetings.
- Access - As a member, you will have access
to areas in the AFEB WebPages that are unavailable to non-AFEB members. This function is
will be available soon.
The following the AFEB membership application. If you would like to become a member,
fill in the requested information. Print out the form before you submit it (to get your
membership activated immediately, after printing, submit the application electronically
(see the submit button at the bottom)), then mail the application and the $10.00 annual
membership dues to the address at the bottom of the application. Please note that all
membership dues for next year are due in January regardless of when the fees were paid
this year.
Upon receipt of your annual membership dues, you will receive a certificate of
membership (starting for 1998 members), your AFEB password for "AFEB Members
Only" WebPages (starting for 1998 members), a list of items that are available for
checkout from the AFEB Library (Local checkouts only), and a personal phone call from an
AFEB board member welcoming you to the AFEB (Regional phone calls only) and other member
accessories.
